December 20th, 2016. The event “From Christmas to New year’s eve festival” celebrates sardinian food tradition.

In order to really get to know a country and its culture the best way is to find out how their people live and what they do. What do they eat on special occasions and why? Which are the most useful suggestions not to miss the best attractions and take home the best memories of a special holiday?

This gastronomic event “Da Natali a Capuannu” has been realized just for this reason: 5 days dedicated to the local food and a lot of entertainments to live fully the holiday spirit in Gallura and especially at Arzachena.

From Tuesday, December 27th to Saturday, December 31st in the old town centre you have the chance to taste 5 dishes of the local gastronomy, every day a different one. In Corso Garibaldi there is a kitchen set up and provided with a wood-fired oven to bake fresh bread. Local housekeepers will show you how to prepare “Lu casgiu furriatu” (made with fresh melted cheese and cream, adding flour when it  is boiling. It can be served with melted honey), “Li chjusoni” (short handmade pasta), “Lu risu cu li pulpeddi” (rice with pork meat) and much more specialities.

Everything is freshly prepared so that everyone can learn new recipes for his home menu. It will certainly be quite hard to resist the good smell spreading all over the old town lanes.

And that is not enough…Every year the food event ends with a free entrance concert on December 31st. Last year the Italian group I Nomadi on stage, this year the Italian musician and singer-songwriter Dolcenera. She will be on stage to welcome 2017 at midnight for the final countdown and the best wishes for a fantastic new year.
